What's the motion about?
Supports to Hong Kong: The denial of police brutality and human right abuses leave Hong Kong people no choice but to seek support from the international community. The Oxford SU has passed the motion to condemn such brutality and we want to achieve the same here at Warwick.
Secure actual freedom of expression on campus: Following the Lennon Wall "Li Pig" incident, several students who had shown supports to the ongoing protests were subject to death threats on social media and photo-taking during seminar. The motion demanded SU to protect such freedom by taking proactive steps and through lobbying the Uni, for example, review of support given by Uni, allow semi-permanent space for Lennon wall at SU atrium.
